Destiny 2 Leviathan Final Boss Beaten in 4 Minutes

Destiny 2 is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players and even though it’s only recently released, the excitement and exploration only continues to grow. With the first raid already successfully launched, and several other high profile events currently active, the FPS has seen a positive launch rife with challenged. Like taking down the final Leviathan raid boss in just 4 minutes!

The final boss for the recent Leviathan raid is that of Emperor Calus and he’s no walk in the park to face. Bungie has definitely gone above and beyond with Destiny 2′s more challenging aspects, including the puzzles and timer-induced frenzies amidst a horde of enemies. One fireteam though looked directly in Bungie’s direction and said, “Challenge accepted”.

The epic team in question consisted of Baxly, Cruelty It, Dark, Newin, Samiam1192, and Textbook1987. Suited up and read to go, they together completed all of the necessary requirements in order to face that final foe in Leviathan. 

To actually kill the Emperor only takes less than a minute, but it’s not as simple as running in guns blazing. There are a few obstacles that must be overcome first, certain actions to make the final boss vulnerable to attack.

As seen in the video above, the combined team used an accumulation of smart decisions to break down this boss including donning Celestial Nighthawk helmets and the use of an Empowering Rift. Combined, the team took down Calus in an impressive amount of time – and the quickest so far. What makes this even more impressive is that it’s the first time a single plate defeat has occurred. With other players, the defeat of this boss has taken multiple phases with four damage plates for each one. This team, did it one.

Since the Leviathan raid went live, both player and developer excitement has been at an all time high. If you haven’t seen bungie’s reaction to the first ever successful completion of the raid, you definitely need to check out the video here – it’s oddly heartwarming and frankly; adorable.
