The floor plans for the forthcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 event have been revealed, and while there’s nothing breaking in terms of surprises revealed from these plans, there are some interesting stories that have stemmed from them – namely with where certain companies are placed, and how big some of their booths are.

You can see the floor plans in the attached gallery, and one that’s particularly noteworthy is where Microsoft is placed this year. Instead of occupying a similar space to Sony, as it’s done in years past, it’s in a completely different hall this time around. Also, the space is notably smaller than it’s been in years past, as Sony has a much bigger area in terms of its spacing.

So who replaced Microsoft? None other than Nintendo. That company’s floor space is almost as big as Sony’s, indicating that it could very well be planning some kind of cityscape for its forthcoming Super Mario Odyssey – similar to what it did last year when it recreated Hyrule for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, when players could walk around and, with an appointment, go hands-on with the Wii U version of the game.

Activision, of course, is back with a vengeance, with a plentiful space on the show floor that’s just as big as Microsoft’s. For that matter, the South Hall also has Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft and Bethesda with equally sized booths, indicating that these companies have a lot to show off. Square Enix and Capcom are also in the South Hall, but with smaller booths – but they’ll pack them with big titles, including Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

As you can see, the Concourse Hall is loaded with smaller companies, but notable ones. Telltale Games will once again have a big space for whatever it has planned (perhaps a look at future Guardians of the Galaxy chapters?), and Psyonix will no doubt have something to showcase for Rocket League. Other than that, they’re smaller companies, but will still have something to offer.

We’ll have full coverage from the event when it kicks off over the next couple of weeks, so be sure to check back for complete details!
