Final Fantasy XV Update Adds Off-Roading Option and Episode Prompto Compatibility

Conclusion of survey regarding future updatesAddition of compatibility with EPISODE […]

Final Fantasy XV has been updated to version 1.12, and henceforth this patch shall be known as the off-road patch. The main bulk of this 8.6GB patch is to prepare the game with Episode Prompto, but by far the most immediately exciting update is the addition of the “Regalia Type-D off-road customization option,” which will allow you to finally take your car off-road and get dirty. We all know what you’re thinking, and yes, you can push through fields and mow over small monsters and creatures who get in your way. Welcome to Grand Theft Fantasy.

Alright, so there’s more to get excited about here. Below you’ll find the abridged changes list:

  • Implementation of Regalia Type-D off-road customization option (available at Hammerhead)
  • Conclusion of survey regarding future updates

  • Addition of compatibility with EPISODE PROMPTO

  • Addition of pieces from EPISODE PROMPTO to music player tracklist

  • Various bug fixes

Yee-haw! That’s what everyone thinks we say down here in Nashville when we’re excited, and it’s what you’re going to be screaming at the top of your lungs as your send your shiny royal carriage, probably worth in excess of $200K in real-world money, off the site of a mountain and careening straight into the side of a Malboro. Actually, we recommend avoiding the Malboro at all costs.

If you’re running a bit behind, Episode Prompto actually drops tomorrow! You can check out the launch trailer right here. From the look of things, Prompto’s story looks to be one of the more emotionally engaging and well-told stories in the Final Fantasy XV universe, and we can’t to go hands-on and feel the ways that Prompto shakes up the gameplay with his gunplay and magic. “Separated from the group and alone in the arctic, Prompto fights to discover the truth of his origin. Take down enemies with bazookas, ride the snowmobile, and snap selfies along the way!”

Stay tuned to WWG for all things Final Fantasy XV.
