Bandai Namco has announced that it will be launching an open beta for the game four weeks before the game’s release in late September. You’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 4 for a few days, starting on September 2nd and running through September 4th. Yep, Labor Day weekend! The event kicks off on the 2nd at 3:00 AM EDT, and runs through the same time on the 4th.
During that time, all PlayStation 4 owners will be able to take part – unlike previous betas, this one isn’t just limited to those with a PlayStation Plus subscription. That said, the subscription will be required in order to pay the game online once it releases in late September, so keep it in mind.
The beta will be available for pre-load starting on August 29th, so you can prep for its arrival a few days later with plenty of time to add it to your PlayStation 4 console.
So how much stuff will you be able to test drive in the Gundam Versus beta? A lot. The beta will feature 94 mobile suits, all Striker suits, and a variety of online and offline modes, according to Bandai Namco. So that means, for the most part, pretty much the entirety of the game. It didn’t provide a list of what these modes are, but we’ll find out in just a few short weeks.
So if you’ve a fan of the Gundam series, this sounds like a party you certainly shouldn’t miss.
Gundam Versus releases on September 29th for PlayStation 4.
