When it comes to anticipated games on the PlayStation 4, people have their lists, and they likely include The Last of Us Part II, God of War and Insomniac's Spider-Man. But by no means you shouldn't count out Knack 2.

Sure, the original Knack didn't exactly set the PlayStation 4 on fire when it released, but it's since gained a cult following, and it was big enough for Sony and company to announce a sequel late last year during PlayStation Experience, and its reception has been better than expected. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have co-op support, as two Knacks are clearly better than one.

Now we have a release date. Knack 2 will be making its way to PlayStation 4 on September 5th, and, as expected, it'll have enhancements to look even better on PlayStation 4 Pro. A new trailer has also debuted, which you can see above.

In the trailer, we get a better look now only at the newly rebuilt Knack and his awesome new abilities – like being able to speed past certain attacks in his smaller form – but we also get an idea of who his human compatriots are this time around, including a somewhat cocky (but helpful) hero type and a few other helpful scientists.

As expected, Knack has a few new threats to go up against this time around, including much bigger bosses (whom we get a glimpse at in the trailer), as well as smaller threats that put Knack to the ultimate test. Fortunately, it looks like he has some other new abilities that help out, like "stretchy hands" that enable him to grab a target from a distance.

Again, God of War it's clearly not, but nevertheless, Knack has his fans, and the sequel should no doubt keep those fans entertained, as well as newcomers that may have missed out on the game the first time around. We'll see how the game fares when it releases in just a few months, around the end of summer – the perfect time to get into a – ahem – knack for games.

Okay, we're done with the puns. For now, anyway.
