Huge League Of Legends Bug Prevents Champions From Being Targeted By Tower

The phrases “game-breaking” and “unplayable” get tossed around quite a bit when discussing bugs in League of Legends, and many of these claims are pretty apparent exaggerations. A new bug related to Kayn doesn’t exactly break the game, but it definitely makes he and other champions pretty broken to play against if the bug is replicated.

The bug in question prevents the champion from being targeted by a tower after he emerges from his untargetable state his ultimate grants, a bug that was also connected with Xayah recently. The bug has now been attributed to more champions besides the jungler and the ADC.

This issue started to gain some visibility when a user posted evidence of the bug, seen above and uploaded by the YouTube account Gus Fridell, to Reddit. As you can see in the video, Garen just wanted to test some of the buffs he got in the recent patch, but Kayn had other plans, namely those that involved not taking any tower damage despite diving Garen. As Kayn uses his ultimate and dives into Garen, he explodes outward and keeps wailing on the tank while the tower goes AFK and pretends that everything’s fine.

Kayn’s champion designer DanielZKlein responded in the Reddit thread to the video, saying that Kayn is still technically untargetable when the ult damage is applied, but the question is why it doesn’t get targeted after he emerges.

Klein updated his comment later after he and the team had some time to look into the issue and said that they believed that they’d fixed the issue and the possibility of another hotfix would be examined to fix the issue. Without revealing how to replicate the bug in-game, Klein added that they’ve noticed the timing of the bug has to be “incredibly precise.”

Despite the bug seemingly being fixed, a second update was posted by Klein later on to add to his initial comment. In a second edit, he explained that the bug was occurring on other champions who could become untargetable besides just Kayn and that it was a tower bug, not a champion bug.

“Turns out we can’t actually fix this on individual champions (so Xayah most likely has this bug still),” Klein added. “We confirmed it on Kled and Fizz as well.”

Klein closed by saying that they’re working on a code-change to fix the issue with the turrets and that a hotfix would hopefully be out as soon as possible.
