Big improvements have been made to League of Legends' pinging system within the past couple of months, even more so within the most recent patch. But with Kayn now added to the game as League's newest jungler, the champion has posed a unique opportunity to provide more pingable options with his split transformation system.

As most players have probably recognized by either playing as, with, or against a Kayn, the jungler has two possible final transformations with each one of them made possible by attacking either ranged or melee champions. While any champion can ping their abilities at the moment to let teammates know what their cooldowns are, Kayn currently is unable to communicate to his team the status of his transformation bar that grows as he attacks enemies. But in a post completely unrelated to the subject of Kayn and his pingable transformations, the champion's designer, DanielZKlein, said that the jungler will soon be getting the option to ping his transformations.

"Thank you Bill for the highest payoff low effort change ever made in League," DanielZKlein wrote in a response to a post on Reddit about a League of Legends tattoo. "I heard KBo's using your code to give us pingable Kayn transform buttons soon. It's the gift that keeps on giving."

For context, DanielZKlein was paying thanks to the original poster of the thread on Reddit where Riot LtRandolph showed off a new tattoo that he'd gotten, a simple but fitting design for a Rioter who made such a big change to the game. The tattoo, seen here, focuses on players being able to ping their abilities' cooldowns, a change that was implemented by the Rioter that by now seems like a no-brainer for League features.

Within the last patch more changes were made to the pinging system to allow players more communication options when it comes to their items. Previously, only impactful items or those with active cooldowns could be pinged, but with Patch 7.15, all items are now pingable. Changes to pinging ammo count for champions like Corki and Gangplank are also in the works, and concerning more traditional pings, a "warded" ping is also on the way.
