Marvel Heroes Omega is finally out on Xbox One, and out of beta on PlayStation 4. You can now download the game for free and start playing this weekend. Better yet, Marvel Heroes Omega features couch co-op, so you and your superhero-loving buddy can get comfortable with two controllers and couple of cold ones, and spend the entire night (or the whole weekend) kicking supervillain ass with your favorite Marvel heroes. Check out the trailer above.
“Marvel Heroes Omega assembles one of the largest gatherings of iconic Super Heroes, Super Villains, and locations from the Marvel Universe for Xbox One. Band together with fellow adventurers in Earth’s mightiest Action-RPG, take the fight to Doctor Doom in an epic nine-chapter story campaign, and experience your favorite heroes, including Captain America, Daredevil, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, and more!”

Many of you have already been playing Marvel Heroes Omega in closed beta on PS4, but for the rest of you, you may be feeling a bit intimidated hopping into a brand new action-RPG. Don’t be. The developers over at Gazillion stopped by the Xbox Wire to offer a few handy tips for newer players, including some specific and powerful ability combinations that can help you power through earlier challenges. Keep scrolling for some insider’s tips.
Power Combos
Some abilities complement each other in especially useful ways and work great as combos in a player’s rotation. Here are some of my favorite one-two punches for Captain America.
Star-Spangled Strike followed by Torqued Shield Throw
Use Captain America’s Star-Spangled Strike to leap into the air, crashing down upon enemies like a meteor. Any enemies not neutralized by this first strike will find themselves knocked down, leaving them vulnerable to a well-timed Torqued Shield Throw, where Captain America hurls his shield into a quick orbit around himself, finishing off all nearby enemies.
Shield Toss followed by Airborne Assault
Another great combination โ begin with Shield Toss to stun enemies in a line before finishing the job with the crushing blow from Airborne Assault. Airborne Assault has the added bonus of leaving enemies in a state of vulnerability, increasing all damage dealt by 10% for 8 seconds, which is yet another great opening for transitioning into other follow up abilities โ great against tougher enemies.

Talents and You
At level 32 and up, you’ll gain access to new sets of Talents to choose from. These offer all kinds of perks, including some dramatic modifications to certain abilities. Some of my favorite Talents that synergize well with the aforementioned Captain America combos:
Combat Surge โ Increased Serum generation (Cap’s secondary resource)
Serum Rush โ Cooldown abilities deal double damage after using up all your Serum
Impenetrable โ More staying power, keeps Cap on his feet!
These are just 3 of the 5 choices you can make, but these will greatly increase the stopping power of Cap’s heavy-hitting cooldown abilities. Every hero offers a unique set of Talents, each choice unlocking new ways to play the Hero.
Item Affixes to Hunt For
Gear also plays an important role in how you build a hero. As a more melee-focused character with an arsenal of haymaker cooldown abilities, these are some of the most useful stats to look for when gearing up Captain America:
Damage Rating to Shield Powers
Damage Rating to Melee Powers
Damage Rating to Cooldown Powers
Brutal Strike Rating
Critical Hit Rating
Marvel Heroes Omega is great fun for some casual couch co-op beat ’em up action with a friend, but for those who want to go a lot deeper, these tips only scratch the surface of how to perfect Captain America. There’s so much more, including hero Synergy selection, Artifacts, Medallions, Rings, and Enchantments, to name a few.
