Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War Lets Orcs Wreak Havoc On The Real World

WB Games' Middle-Earth: Shadow of War comes out in just a few weeks, and promises to be an even bigger adventure than Shadow of Mordor, with more possibilities, more gameplay to embrace, and, most importantly, most Orcs to kill.

With that, the publisher has taken an interesting route when it comes to promoting the game. Instead of taking the super-serious route and focusing on the gameplay, the team has instead opted to unleash Orcs on the real world, with one attempting to get revenge on guys named Jerry, and another saving enough lives before the players enter back into the world and show them who's boss.

Let's look at the first commercial, "Eat It Jerry," which can be seen below. In it, an Orc taunts humans by performing a number of different actions, including bashing someone's vehicle, attempting to launch a projectile via catapult at a boat, and setting a scooter on fire. The player eventually gets into the game and tells the Orc to "eat it" in return, but not before getting a menacing stare, indicating that the cycle could begin all over again. You can see that commercial below.

The second ad, called "Not Today, Brian," takes a more sensitive approach, as an Orc appears to help players out, only to be faced off with at the end. First, he throws a doctor aside right before he's about to pull the plug on a patient, indicating he's got something to live for. Next, he manages to save someone falling off a ladder while doing some form of house work. Finally, and probably the best of the bunch, a customer begins choking on some food, and he stops at nothing to give them the Heimlich maneuver and save their lives. Of course, that doesn't stop him from getting shredded at the end, with the player saying, "Not today."

While these Shadow of War commercials are a bit on the unconventional side, they're pretty hilarious, and we could see even more pop up leading closer to the game's release. Hey, we're all for it – chances are Jerry deserves all that torment anyway. (And before you say anything, Jerry, you can eat it.)

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War releases on October 10th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
