Nintendo Switch 2 Owners Can Now Play One of 2025’s Best Games

One of the best games of 2025 has today released on Nintendo Switch 2 platforms without any prior warning. By all accounts, this past year was a very strong one for the Switch 2, as the new Nintendo console had titles like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Hades 2 available to play within the first months after its arrival. Despite this, many of the best third-party games of last year still haven’t made their way to Switch 2, although there have been plenty of requests from users. Fortunately, Nintendo fans can now quit longing for one title that has launched directly onto the eShop.

As of this today, Blue Prince has been released on Nintendo Switch 2 platforms around the globe. Developer by Dogubomb, Blue Prince is a puzzle game with roguelike elements where players are tasked with uncovering a variety of mysteries in an old manor. Its premise might sound rather simple, but Blue Prince ended up being endlessly captivating to many. It was widely praised as not only the best puzzle game of 2025, but one of the best games in the entirety of the year regardless of genre.

Just How Good Is This New Switch 2 Game?

If, for some reason, you don’t think that Blue Prince is a big title for Switch 2 owners to access, well, you would be wrong. On Metacritic, Blue Prince garnered an absurd average review score of 92/100 upon its release last year. This put it on par with that of Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 in terms of Metacritic score, and was higher than the average rating for Split Fiction, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Donkey Kong Bananza.

It also places Blue Prince on a very, very short list of some of the most acclaimed puzzle games in the history of gaming. The only games that have scored somewhat similarly to it over the years are Portal, Braid, and Return of the Obra Dinn, just to name a few.

So, if you own a Nintendo Switch 2 and you’re a huge fan of puzzle games, Blue Prince is very much worth picking up. Best of all, the game has launched on Switch 2 at an immediate discount and is only selling for $19.79. This deal is set to run until March 12th, so be sure to take advantage of it before then.
