Pokemon Go's long-awaited gym rework is almost here and a new rumor suggests that developer Niantic Labs is going "all in" to promote it. The fan site Pokemon Go Hub claims that Niantic is about to release a new live action commercial featuring the new gym system.

According to the site's source, the commercial was filmed several weeks ago and will show the gyms in action as well as multiplayer interactions. Whether this means it'll just showing players battling each other or some form of "cooperative gameplay" (which Niantic has stated is also coming to the game) is unclear.

Niantic first announced Pokemon Go with a live action trailer last year, which showed people catching, trading, and battling Pokemon in the real world. Several of those features have yet to be introduced, including trading Pokemon and working together with other trainers to take down Legendary Pokemon like Mewtwo.

Pokemon Go also released a few other short live action commercials when the game came out last summer, but laid off after the game's release.

We should note that Pokemon Go Hub has a...mixed reputation reporting Pokemon Go news. This was the site that pushed the "Shiny Bulbasaur" theory hard a couple of months ago and has frequently been....overeager in presenting their theories as fact.

However, a new trailer would make sense considering that Pokemon Go has ramped up its marketing in recent weeks. The game, which is entering its second year, recently launched new ad campaigns in cities like New York and Toyko in the hopes of getting some lapsed players interested in the game. There's also plans to launch Pokemon Go live events over the summer, beginning with a major one-day festival in Chicago next month.
