The Pokemon Company released a new update for the Pokemon Bank yesterday, which adds compatibility with Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Pokemon Bank is a Nintendo 3DS app that allows players to mass transfer Pokemon from a cloud based server into different Pokemon games. This prevents players from spending hours trading their beloved Pokemon from one game to the next.
As part of the new update, the Poke Transporter feature (which allows for one way transfers from older games into the Pokemon Bank) is now compatable with the Virtual Console versions of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver, both of which were released earlier this year. The Poke Transporter will “update” Pokemon from Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver (along with Pokemon from Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow) with IVs, Abilities, Special Attack and Special Defense stats, and other features that weren’t in older Pokemon games.
The Pokemon Bank even allows players to transfer the new Ultra Beasts as well as some of the Totem Pokemon that can now be obtained in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. For some reason, players can’t transfer the Totem Sized Ribombee, Marowak, Araquanid, and Togedemaru. Players also can’t transfer the new Necrozma forms, as they’re technically a merger between two Pokemon.
The Pokemon Bank app is free to download but requires a yearly subscription fee to use. It’s highly recommended if you want to move all your older Pokemon from one Pokemon game into the next.
