We're just hours away from Sony's E3 presentation, and we're already expecting some pretty great things from the company, including reveals for God of War, Spider-Man and – fingers crossed – The Last of Us Part II. But the publisher could have a big surprise in store when it comes to a title from its previous console.

A pair of NeoGAF users by the names of FelipeMGM and AAMARMO have discovered a number of new trademarks filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe, and they include a number of titles, including Frantics, Knowledge Is Power, Bravo Team and The Impatient. But there's one particular title that stands out – Shadow of the Colossus.

In case you might recall, Shadow originally released on the PlayStation 2 several years ago, developed by the folks at Team Ico. In the game, you portray a young warrior who finds himself in a number of battles with larger-than-life creatures, dodging their attacks and climbing up on them to attack their weak spots – something that's easier said than done, but well worth it if you can bring them down.

The game became a cult classic on the PlayStation 2 front, and Sony decided to give it a chance on the PlayStation 3 as well, releasing it alongside Team Ico's previous game, Ico, as an HD collection. It did very well for the platform, and reintroduced people to games they might have missed the first time around.

Now, the trademark filing could be anything. Sony could be remastering the game the same way it's done with titles like God of War III and The Last of Us, or it could just be prepping a PlayStation 2-to-PlayStation 4 release for the game, as it's done in the past with titles like Parappa the Rapper II, Twisted Metal: Black and others. So it could go either way.

Whatever the case, Shadow of the Colossus deserves its spot on the PlayStation 4 roster. It's a wondrous game filled with danger, imagination and thrills, and one we wouldn't mind playing through again. We'll see what Sony announces in just a few hours – and, with Colossi involved, it'll be big.
