Super Mario Odyssey is just about a month away from release, and we're thrilled to jump back into the 3D world of Mario and take on any challenges that may come our way. But today, a new Nintendo Minute special revealed even more gameplay footage from the forthcoming title, including a closer look at Seaside Kingdom.

In the video, the hosts make their way through the watery world, first in an overdressed fashion, but then finding a character that allows them to change Mario into his swimsuit – complete with those controversial nipples. But the gameplay footage goes much deeper than that, showing you exploring through the 3D world, visiting the Beach House and even deep diving into the water, where your hat miraculously stays intact.

There's a good reason for that, though, as the hat essentially acts as a version of Cappy, which you can use to throw at enemies and collect coins that may be outside your reach.

What's great about the Seaside Kingdom is that it's a huge level to explore, and you can actually both run around and swim through the area. But you can also find new creatures to possess, such as a fish that helps you activate an underwater switch that you wouldn't be able to access otherwise.

Though the footage isn't running at 60 frames per second like the game actually will be when it releases, it's highly detailed, and shows the kind of effort that the Nintendo team put into the game.

And it gives you an idea of what you can do with the Snapshot mode, in which you can take your own special photos in Super Mario Odyssey, including tilting, filters and screen shotting for the sake of soclal media. It's a slight glimpse of what the feature is capable of, and kinda neat when it comes to setting up your ultimate Mario vacation photos – but don't rest too easy. Remember, you need to save Peach from Bowser!

Oh, and good luck with that gigantic octopus. You're going to have your hands full.
