“In ‘Under Pressure,’ the Guardians just can’t seem to outrun the past (or their tab), but if they figure out how to control the untold power of their mysterious new relic, they might not have to. With help from dubious old friends and unwilling new allies, Star-Lord and company scour the galaxy for answers. But how long can they elude the genocidal maniac hunting them? And will simmering tensions finally tear the team apart? And get ready to delve into a certain Rocket Raccoon’s past…”

Spoilers ahead:

In the first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy, “Tangled Up in Blue,” we saw our Guardians take down Thanos relatively quickly. It was almost anticlimactic how fast Thanos fell at the hands of Star-Lord, who ended up blasting a hole in Thanos’ chest with a massive weapon built (and feverishly repaired) by Rocket Raccoon. It seemed like a premature conclusion to what should have been a more drawn-out fight, but we got some not-so-subtle hints that things are about to take a nasty turn.

Though we don’t know who the new villain will be going forward, we do know that the Guardians are going to have to face some division among themselves. Rocket and Drax butted heads in the end of the last episode after Rocket pointed out that it was Star-Lord who struck the fatal blow that took down Thanos, not Drax, implying that Drax wasn’t able to exact revenge upon Thanos for taking the lives of his family. Star-Lord was put in the middle of the two, and things didn’t end peacefully.

So where do we go from here? Telltale’s narratives always tend to heat up in the second episode, and this is where we start seeing cliff-hangers that leave us reeling and gasping. Stay tuned for our full coverage on June 6.
