Nintendo consoles and wrestling video games have a long, illustrious history together, but the once-successful tag team has been on the outs recently. The last pro wrestling game to appear on a Nintendo system was WWE 13 on the Wii. The Wii U, sadly, didn’t get a single new wrestling title.

Well, good news grappling fans! It seems the Nintendo Switch may be stepping back into the squared circle with its own version of WWE 2K18. Eagle-eyed Redditor TheRealPhoenixWright noticed Austrian retailer Libro was listing WWE 2K18 for Nintendo Switch for sale, and heroically managed to grab a screenshot before the evidence was destroyed. According to other Redditors, Libro is a respected retailer in Austria, and probably wouldn’t list something for no reason. Check out the evidence, below.
We haven’t heard anything at E3 2017 about WWE 2K18 coming to Switch, but that’s not surprising. 2K Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive typically no-show E3.
As mentioned, if WWE 2K18 comes to Nintendo Switch, it would be the revival of a proud tradition. Pro Wrestling was one of the very first games on the NES, and games like WCW vs. NWO: World Tour and WWF No Mercy were staples on the N64. For years Nintendo fans continued to get wrestling games on the Gamecube and Wii, even as other sports franchises abandoned the platforms.
WWE 2K18 has yet to be officially unveiled for any platform, but GameSpot will be holding a “WWE” E3 livesteam on Thusday, where we might learn more.
The most recent game in the series, WWE 2K17, is currently available for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4.
