As we recently established, the upcoming Xbox One X has more support than you might think. Over 80 upcoming or existing games are preparing some sort of Xbox One X visual upgrades, with Ubisoft being one of the system’s biggest supporters. Assassin’s Creed Origins, Far Cry 5, For Honor, and Ghost Recon Wildlands will all be enhanced for Xbox One X, and it sounds like more support is on the way.

GameSpot recently asked Ubisoft founder Yves Guillemot for his thoughts on the Xbox One X, and he seemed to believe the souped-up system has a lot of potentialโ€ฆ

“We did a deal with Microsoft on Assassin’s Creed Origins, which is taking really good advantage of the power of the machine. We like very much what they are doing because instead of having a Kinect or something this time the industry went after more power for the machine, so more immersion, better AI, and overall better games. We like that because it means the industry will grow because the better the experiences, the more people want to have it. We think it has a good potential. If Microsoft is really behind it, it can do well.”

Interesting to see Guillemot throwing a little shade at Kinect, as they were perhaps peripheral’s biggest backer, releasing a long list of games for it like Just Dance and Child of Eden. Will the Xbox One X‘s power bring new players to the fold or is Microsoft playing to a narrow niche of tech heads with money to burn? It remains to be seen, but at least we know we have some very pretty Ubisoft games coming.

The Xbox One X enhances store shelves on November 7. You can check out WWG’s latest Xbox coverage here.
