To celebrate the start of a new college football season and as an act of corporate synergy between the Disney-owned companies, ABC, ESPN and Marvel have teamed-up for special edition “Road to the College Football Playoffs” comic book covers.

These covers, which can be viewed in our gallery at the bottom of the page, promote six of the most exciting games on the opening week schedule โ€” which will be televised on ABC and ESPN โ€” by depicting the mascots of each team brawling with each other.

On Saturday, September 3, No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners go on the road to face No. 12 Houston Cougars (Noon ET, ABC), No. 6 LSU Tigers head to Lambeau Field to take on the Wisconsin Badgers (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC), No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide, the defending National Champions, and No. 19 USC Trojans will square off at AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas), a neutral site, (8 p.m. ET, ABC), and lastly, No. 1 Clemson Tigers will take on the Auburn Tigers (9 p.m. ET, ESPN) on the road.

On Sunday, September 4, No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish will travel to the Lone Star State to play the Texas Longhorns (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC).

On Monday, September 5, which is Labor Day, No. 4* Florida State Seminoles will head to Orlando’s Citrus Bowl to throw down with the No. 14 Ole Miss Rebels (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
