Thor: Ragnarok is certainly a force to be reckoned with, as the third outing for the God of Thunder flexed its muscles and hammered the competition on Thursday night.

According to Variety, Ragnarok hauled in an impressive $14.5 million on in previews on Thursday, generating one of the biggest opening nights of the year.

Ragnarok now boasts the fourth-highest Thursday night of 2017, behind only Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($17M), Beauty and the Beast ($16.3M) and Spider-Man: Homecoming ($15.4M).

In addition to the massive opening night numbers, Ragnarok also accomplished another difficult feat on Thursday, earning a perfect, five-star score from comScore/Screen Engine's PostTrak audience survey.

"It's hammer time as massive pre-shows, stellar reviews, strong audience reaction, and huge social media buzz give Disney/Marvel yet another winner as Thor: Ragnarok has set the stage for an epic weekend at the box office," said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst with comScore.

After it's Thursday night haul, Thor: Ragnarok is projected to earn between $110M-$118M over the course of the weekend.
