Venom #6 Preview: Eddie Brock Returns

03/27/2017 05:09 pm EDT

Marvel Comics has released a new preview of Venom #6 by writer Mike Costa and artist Gerardo Sandoval. The issue sees the original Venom, Eddie Brock, returning to action.

The latest Venom series from Marvel Comics began with the amoral criminal Lee Price bonding with the Venom symbiote. After an extended period of time bonded to Flash Thompson and working as a hero and a member of the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Venom symbiote had no desire to attach itself to the likes of Price but was too weakened to resist. Now Eddie Brock has come to reclaim what was his.

Venom #6 leads into Venom #150, the Venom milestone issue that will see most if not all of the past Venom hosts coming together, and that can't bode well for Spider-Man. Plus, all of that is just the beginning of the lead up to Marvel's Venomverse event launching alter in 2017.

Here's the official Venom #6 issue description from Marvel Comics:

Reunited and it feels so good! That's right, True Believer, Eddie Brock has reunited with the symbiote at long last! Today, Marvel is pleased to present your first look inside VENOM #6 – the next senses shattering issue from creators Mike Costa and Gerardo Sandoval! It's a battle for the ages as new Venom host Lee Price throws down with your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! But amid the chaos and the fury of battle, a familiar face returns! That's right, Eddie Brock is back to reclaim his rightful place as the one-and-only Venom! Can symbiote and host coexist as they once did? With Eddie Brock back on the board, what will become of Lee Price? And seeds sown here bear bitter fruit in May's oversized Venom #150. The fireworks begin on April 19th in the can't-miss VENOM #6!

Up Next: Venom Movie Will Be R-Rated Start To New Shared Marvel Universe

There's plenty of fan buzz around Venom following the announcement that the Venom movie will hit theaters in 2018. The film is said to be looking to earn an R-rating and launch a new Marvel shared movie universe separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and without Spider-Man. The Venom movie was also listed as a "Sci-Fi/Horror" movie on a production website, suggesting the film will dive into the character's alien origin and be pretty dark in tone.

In the meantime, fans can get their fill with Venom #6, hitting stands on April 19, and all of the big plans Marvel Comics has for the character in the coming months.
