This go around, Spidey will be taking on The Vulture while rocking a spider-suit reminiscent of the original design — but with additional tech designed by Stark Industries for a modern touch.
While this version of the costume is clearly inspired by Steve Ditko’s classic art, there’s no shortage of Spider-Man costumes from the comic books to draw inspiration from as, over the years, he’s had more than a few. And those costumes range from amazing to what-were-they-thinking level bad.
So which of Spidey’s costumes were our favorites?
That’s the task we here at ComicBook.com have undertaken by narrowing down all of the web slinger’s outfits and picking out what we feel like is the 10 Best!
Take for example our No. 3 spot — Superior Spider-Man, one of our favorite Spider-Man costumes, which coincidentally, isn’t really even Peter Parker at all. Superior Spider-Man is Dr. Otto Octavius after body-swapping with Peter Parker and allowing Peter to die while in Octavius’ body.
The riveting concept saw the controversial end of a 50-year run in The Amazing Spider-Man, replaced by The Superior Spider-Man, which followed Dr. Octopus’ adventures while still in Peter Parker’s body and carrying on as though he was actually Spider-Man. Initially, Doc Ock replaced the blue in the suit with black, but eventually he scaled the suit up with a redesign that included retractable talons in the hands and feet, and four mechanical Spider-arms eerily similar to his Doctor Octopus costume.
