Recently, a new posting by Project Casting piqued fans’ interest about Carol Danvers. The site shared a casting call for the film ‘Mary Lou’ which is the working title of Avengers: Infinity War. You can check out the request’s details below:

“Military Officers: Looking for men who appear to be 30’s-early 50’s, in good physical shape, to portray officers of various rankings. Must have short hair or be willing to get a military haircut. NO Facial Hair! Military experience is preferred, but not mandatory. Filming will be Monday 8/28 with a mandatory fitting the week of August 14th- must be available for both!”

The casting call itself isn’t suspicious, but it begs questioning when you realize one of Captain Marvel‘s directors was recently on an Air Force base. Co-director Ryan Fleck shared a photo on Instagram yesterday from a military base where he thanked US Air Force cadets and staff. There is a chance the picture was taken for Fleck’s location scouting, but it is a bit early to be doing that; Captain Marvel isn’t expect to begin filming until January, but Avengers 3 & 4 still have a ways to go.

Avengers: Infinity War just wrapped principal shooting, and Avengers 4 will be up to bat soon enough. If the military extras are needed for August, the date lines up and suggests Avengers 4 will house some sort of USAF, and Captain Marvel will fit right in there.

After all, Carol Danvers is known for her military background. The character was an officer and pilot within the USAF before she got her extraterrestrial powers. If the character is introduced in Avengers 4, Carol may be sent to respond to Thanos when the Mad Titan sets his gaze on Earth.
