Spoilers from here on out, so be warned. If you haven’t read the issue yet and don’t want it spoiled, you can always check out more comics coverage here.

The majority of issue #7 is actually quite civil, despite the series title. SHIELD calls off the local Police from the Lincoln Memorial, where Miles Morales has set up shop. You might recall that a few issues ago the Inhuman Ulysses had a vision that revealed Morales holding an impaled Captain America on the steps of the memorial. It doesn’t take long after the police leave for Cap to also make his way to the memorial, where the two have a somewhat low-key conversation about the absurdity of these visions, and what it means for them.

Captain Marvel then shows up to the proceedings, and again, things don’t immediately fall apart. The three continue their dialogue that seems headed for a calming, but as Captain Marvel goes to take Spider-Man’s hand, an energy shield appears to be in front of him. Danvers pushes against it to no avail, and Spider-Man doesn’t seem to know what’s going on either. Danvers says “Stop it, Tony. Tony Stark! Be a man!”

“I wasn’t hiding.” says Stark, “I was giving you one last chance.” Stark barrels towards Captain Marvel in souped up Hulkbuster sized armor with a definite War Machine inspired paint job. The two battle it out above Captain America and Spider-Man, who is still encased in the energy shield from Stark. As he pleads “Don’t do this!”, Carol and Tony go full out towards each other. With a fully powered punch, she hits Tony square in the center of his armor, with the impact shattering the front and back of his suit.

It references the same type of punch that Thanos delivered to Rhodey, killing him in the process. As to if Iron Man is alive, disabled, or dead, that will be revealed in Civil War II ##8.

Civil War II #7 is in stores now.
