Deadpool the Duck will be written by Stuart Moore (Cloak and Dagger, Thanos: Death Sentence) and illustrated by Jacopo Camagni (Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars), with covers by David Nakayama.

Deadpool the Duck will see Deadpool, Wade Wilson, on a mission from SHIELD to capture a major extraterrestrial who is chaos havoc on Earth. Deadpool thinks it’s a simple enough job, but things turn sideways. The ever-cantankerous Howard the Duck becomes involved, but Deadpool and Howard find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. A freak accident leaves Deadpool and Howard merged and fighting for control of Deadpool the Duck, the Merc with a Beak.

Deadpool the Duck will run for five issues, beginning in January 2017. If the cover to Deadpool the Duck #2 is to be believed, the series will feature some guest stars, including Rocket Raccoon of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

This is just the latest announcement coming from Marvel Comics at New York Comic Con today. At the “Divided We Stand” panel, Marvel announced that Power Man and Iron Fist #10 will feature the return of Runaways villain Alex Wilder. They also announced that Thunderbolts #10 will begin the Thunderbolts 20th Anniversary celebration, with the return of the Jolt and the beginning of the “Return of the Masters” story arc. Finally, they announced that Squirrel Girl would celebrate her 25th anniversary in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #16 by crossing paths with the Hulk.
