Collectors already include stores like Hot Topic, Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, and Walmart on their list of Funko POP! hotspots. The company has recently launched a new line however that seeks to give the foundation of any good geekdom empire, the local comic shop and speciality store, some exclusives of their own.
The collectible company announced their new Funko Specialty Series, which will include one exclusive Pop! and one new exclusive Dorbz that will only be available at select stores.
The debut selections from the series are both from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and features a Howard The Duck Dorbz and the Russian Cosmonaut Cosmo as a Pop!. I couldn't be happier that we're getting a Cosmo Pop! and the limited quantity should allow some other less known characters to be utilized in the line. Plus, it's a nice gesture towards speciality retailers, who often get the shaft when it comes to exclusives, especially as Pop!'s have gotten more popular. Hopefully, at some point, we might even see a Dorbz or Pop! Ride as part of the promotion.

It would mostly be more niche characters, so I'm thinking people like Foggy Nelson (from Daredevil) or an Iron Man and Captain America set breaking bread over shawarma. Stuff that would never sell enough in a full-scale release, but in limited quantities could draw in collectors in droves. I'm eager to see what else Funko has in store.
