A Twitter user, whose handle is @hawaii_isla808, has done a great job of snapping photos and capturing video of Marvel’s The Inhumans ever since production began in Hawaii earlier this month. And earlier today on Waikiki Beach, the latest batch of set photos and videos feature a new look at Serinda Swan as Medusa, the strong and fierce wife of Black Bolt and Queen of Attilan.

Aside from wearing a purple dress โ€” a lighter shade than what her comic counterpart typically wears โ€” Swan unveiled a buzz cut instead of Medusa’s iconic long, thick head of red hair.

Of course, there could be a couple reasons at to why Swan’s hair was chopped off. One, because Medusa has the ability to move and control her hair, that will have to be a computer-generated effect, so to make it easier for digital artists to render, her hair had to go. However, Swan filmed scenes a week ago wearing a red wig, so perhaps a villain de-powers Medusa by cutting off her hair.

As you can see on the image to your right, from Uncanny Inhumans #15, it wouldn’t be the first time Medusa’s hair got the clipper treatment.
