Fans, likely those who were on hand for the first 40-minutes of the film which were screened at the 20th Century Fox showcase event, are already offering praise to Mangold’s new film and its main character.
“Someone told me that the movie made it feel like you might walk out onto the street and run into this Wolverine,” Mangold said of Logan in a recent interview. “That it’s not taking place in a different universe but our own.”
NEXT: Last Frame of New Logan Trailer
Logan takes place in a somewhat distant future, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan’s vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn’t seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn’t over yet.
