Fan-Made Logan Credits Scene Pits X-Men Vs The Avengers

Much ado is being made about Hugh Jackman playing the Wolverine for the final time in Logan, ComicBook.com’s 3rd Most Anticipated Film.



When that film releases on Friday, it will mark the end of a 17-year-long career of Jackman as the titular character through nine films. But he did say one thing could make him continue playing the role.

When asked if a crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe would make him reconsider, he seemed to be down for the chance to mix it up with Iron Man and Captain America.



Now one clever YouTube user attempted to trick the Internet into thinking that might be in the cards with a fan-made credits scene.

The Logan “post-credits scene” mimics the surroundings of a movie theater and recreates the closing moments of the crawl before cutting to Deadpool.

After some witty quips (which definitely do not come from Ryan Reynolds), a familiar object comes crashing through the wall and nearly decapitates the Merc With A Mouth.

When the debris clears, the shot closes with a scene that could only hint at one development: Avengers versus X-Men.

It’s not in the cards, but we’re glad to see someone imagine a parallel reality where Marvel Studios and Fox can work their crap out and make the magic happen.

Who knows what the future holds, but we don’t expect anything to change any time soon. 

But at least now we’ll always have this video.

In 2024 the mutant population has shrunk significantly and the X-Men have disbanded. Logan, whose power to self-heal is dwindling, has surrendered himself to alcohol and now earns a living as a chauffeur. He takes care of the ailing old Professor X whom he keeps hidden away. Laura possesses an extraordinary fighting prowess and is in many ways like Wolverine. She is pursued by sinister figures working for a powerful corporation; this is because her DNA contains the secret that connects her to Logan. A relentless pursuit begins … In this third cinematic outing featuring the Marvel comic book character Wolverine we see the superheroes beset by everyday problems. They are ageing, ailing and struggling to survive financially. A decrepit Logan is forced to ask himself if he can or even wants to put his remaining powers to good use. It would appear that in the near-future, the times in which they were able put the world to rights with razor sharp claws and telepathic powers are now over.

Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.

Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
