Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds took home the trophy for Best Comedic Performance for his role in the film at last night’s MTV Movie Awards.

The film, which was in development hell for years, turned out to be one of the most popular films of the year and probably the most profitable superhero movie ever made.

Reynolds was never recognized for his roles in comic book films like Green Lantern, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and RIPD.
