'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Stars Announce Anti-Bullying Campaign

The stars of Spider-Man: Homecoming are speaking out to support a cause with a global impact, and that sits close to the heart of the Wallcrawler's mythos.

Actors Tom Holland, Zendaya, Laura Harrier, and Jacob Batalon all appeared in a new public service announcement for STOMP Out Bullying, a campaign raising awareness about bullying.

Holland has previously spoken out about being bullied when his classmates learned he was a professional dancer. But he continued on with his lessons and eventually landed the title role in the Billy Elliot musical, beginning his career as an actor.

"I, like Peter, accepted I wasn't the cool kid at school and just found my group of friends and got on with it," said Holland to PEOPLE.

Now that he's the big screen's Spider-Man, he uses those experiences to relate to the character of Peter Parker.

"Peter Parker's storyline hits every key point of growing up," Holland said. "It's so fantastic for young kids to see a superhero going through the things they go through."

The campaign encourages people to participate on Monday, October 2, by wearing a blue t-shirt to help spread awareness about bullying and its impact. Blue Shirt Day is also known as the World Day of Bullying Prevention.
