One of the most well-known scenes from a live-action comic book movie – for better or for worse – is the dance scene in Spider-Man 3. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), under the influence of the Venom symbiote, turns evil, culminating in him starting a dance battle at a jazz club.

The scene sat rather weirdly with fans, causing it to grow into a pretty popular meme in the year since. And now it appears that the newest big-screen adaptation of Spider-Man has caught the dancing bug too – but in an entirely different context.
A new international ad for Spider-Man: Homecoming, tying in with the Italian Internet and cable company TIM, shows the web-slinger getting inspired to boogie after spotting a dancer through the window. The routine that ensues, which you can watch below, leads to some pretty impressive, wall-crawling moves.
It’s unclear if the dancing in the video was actually done by the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s current Peter Parker, Tom Holland. Holland is a trained dancer, getting his start as the title role in the West End production of Billy Elliot. The actor has displayed his dancing skills pretty regularly in the years since, including in a recent viral performance on Lip Sync Battle.

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 7, 2017.
