It’s safe to say that Spider-Man has become sort of a cultural icon. This means that the Marvel hero’s classic red-and-blue costume has been donned by countless fans, even in rather unusual situations. Even the most recent actor to play the web slinger, Tom Holland, had a rather memorable experience with the Spider-Man costume.

While speaking to British GQ, Holland revealed that he once wore a Spider-Man suit to what he believed to be a costume party. But as it turns out, the actor – who debuted as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War, and next reprises his role in July’s Spider-Man: Homecoming – was put in a rather awkward predicament.

“It wasn’t a fancy dress party.” Holland explained. “It was just a regular party. And I was there as Spider-Man.”

Holland said that the party in question occurred five years ago, long before he was ever actually cast as Spider-Man. But still, it shows the rather unique ways that Holland has comitted to all things Peter Parker.

The Spider-Man costume Holland wore on set, as it turns out, had quite a few differences. He described the costume’s head as “weirdly egg-shaped” and limiting his vision, which resulted in him accidentally getting punched in the head during one of Homecoming‘s fight scenes.
