Meinerding released the first slide of a falling Spidey back in July, with two new pieces — one showing the Vulture dropping Spidey, the next showing the rookie hero tangled in his parachute underwater — making their way to the artist’s Twitter. Meinerding has shared plenty of Homecoming concept art to his social media pages, including a concept for Peter Parker’s homemade vigilante costume (inspired by Ben Reilly’s Scarlet Spider suit from the comics), an unused, black and red design based on the Superior Spider-Man suit, a look at Peter hanging out after a day’s hard work, and Spidey thwarting “the Avengers’” bank robbery.
Meinderding’s beautiful artworks are collected in the Spider-Man: Homecoming — The Art of the Movie hardcover book, and his artwork covers the Spider-Man: Homecoming 4K UHD Blu-ray steelbook, featuring Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Vulture. Marvel Studios recently released a three-piece poster for Avengers: Infinity War at San Diego Comic Con, featuring every major hero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and art by Meinderding. The poster also depicts Spider-Man in his new Avengers costume.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
The cast includes Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It also includes Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Kenneth Choi, Michael Mando, Selenis Leyva, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr., JJ Totah, and Hannibal Buress.
