Marvel’s The Defenders will bring together the major street-level heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Netflix series, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, but it doesn’t stop there.

The crossover event series also features several members of those previous series’ supporting cast and fans can expect to see the entire Marvel Netflix family of characters together for the first time in The Defenders.

“I’m excited just for fans to see characters interact that have never interacted before!” Jessica Henwick, who will reprise her role as Colleen Wing from Marvel’s Iron Fist for Marvel’s The Defenders, tells CBR. “I’m not even just talking about the four leads. I’m also talking about the ensemble cast, which โ€” most of them have been announced, I think. There’s a scene which has all of us โ€” the whole cast in the same room โ€” and that was crazy, and a lot of fun. So that’s what I’m excited for people to see, and it’s sort of towards the end of the show, I’d say.”

That means that Marvel’s The Defenders won’t just be the first encounter between the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Heroes for Hire, the circumstances of which should be surprising to most fans, but also the Daughter of the Dragon, Colleen Wing and Misty Knight (Simone Missick).

“I did just say there’s a scene which has all of us in the same room, so it is possible that Colleen and Misty may approach one another and start talking to each other,” Henwick said. “I know the fans want it. It was actually part of the reason why I loved Colleen when I started researching the role and I saw Daughters of the Dragon and what that was, it’s unlike anything that’s on TV. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen, as far as I know. Yes. I think fans will be happy.”

A partnership between Colleen Wing and Misty Knight could be a long lasting one given that Missick is confirmed to bring Misty Knight to the second season of Marvel’s Iron Fist.

Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal โ€“ to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

Marvel’s The Defenders is developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. The miniseries will also feature Sigourney Weaver as the villain, Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), and several recurring guest stars from Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Marvel’s Iron Fist, including Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.

Marvel’s The Defenders premieres on Netflix on Aug. 18, 2017.
