So, for those of you waiting, you should know that your patience will be rewarded soon. Even though Heroes for Hire isn’t a series in itself, Netflix will be assembling The Defenders later this year in a miniseries. And, yes, Cage and Iron Fist will have plenty to do together.

Recently, two stars from The Defenders gushed a bit over Iron Fist’s first meeting with Cage in the upcoming series. Jessica Henwick and Finn Jones spoke with IGN to promote their newly released series Iron Fist, and it was there that the two teased the heroes’ tricky dynamic.

“The first Luke Cage [and] Iron Fist is going to – oh, people are going to love it. Yeah, it’s a really cool dynamic. It’s unusual,” Henwick said before Jones jumped in.

“The Cage and Iron Fist stuff is working really well,” he said before being asked if Iron Fist tries to take Cage on. “Well, you’ll have to wait and see.”

In the past, another star from The Defenders has talked about Cage’s complicated relationship with Iron Fist. Mike Colter said his invulnerable role tempers Jones’ loose personality, and it makes an interesting impression.

“He’s a young guy. There’s an exuberance that Iron Fist comes with that Luke Cage wants to temper a bit,” Colter told Entertainment Weekly. “It can’t help but have a wisdom-versus-youth quality… Danny comes out like a bull in a china shop in some ways, and I think Luke has seen the world and knows certain things. It’s a cool combination that’ll work out.”

Iron Fist is now airing online. Defenders is set to hit the service later this year, rumored for a summer premiere. Following Defenders, John Bernthal will star as the Punisher in his own series.
