The new posters feature Polaris (Emma Dumont), Eclipse (Sean Teale), Blink (Jamie Chung), and Thunderbird (Jamie Redford). All four can be seen in the gallery below.

Polaris, aka Lorna Dane, has the mutant power to manipulate magnetism. The gift was inherited from her father, Magneto, in the Marvel Comics universe. It is unclear if The Gifted will acknowledge that connection.

Eclipse, aka Marcos Diaz, is a brand new mutant created for The Gifted. Eclipse has the ability to manipulate light, which he can also use to generate heat.

Blink, aka Clarice Fong, is a young mutant with the ability to open portals as a means of teleportation between distant places.

Thunderbird, aka John Proudstar, is the leader of The Gifted‘s mutant underground. He has a mutant tracking ability and enhanced strength and durability.

Action-adventure family drama The Gifted, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

The Gifted‘s family is made up of prosecutor Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer), his wife Caitlin Strucker (Amy Acker), a nurse, and their two high school-age children, Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White).

The Gifted is the second television series to spin out of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies franchise. Legion debuted on FX last year to critical praise and earned a second season renewal. There were originally plans for a Hellfire series, focusing on the villainous power brokers of the Hellfire Club, but when the series stalled out Matt Nix’s The Gifted pitch was put into development instead.

The Gifted was given a 10-episode order by Fox and the 9 p.m. ET Monday time slot for its first season. The series will follow Lucifer, a series based on the comic book series published by DC Comics imprint Vertigo Comics.

The Gifted premieres on October 2nd on Fox with a pilot episode directed by veteran X-Men movies director Bryan Singer and written by creator Matt Nix.
