Avengers 2

While there has been no official announcement from Disney or Marvel Studios, many in the entertainment press are reporting that Avengers 2 will begin filming in the UK early next year. According to Screendaily, who broke the story, Marvel's The Avengers 2 will be filmed at Pinewood-Shepperton in England. The Avengers 2 will reportedly start production later this year, but the actual shooting of the film won't start until early 2014. Marvel Studios will reportedly utilize Shepperton Studios, which is the studio set where Thor: The Dark World filmed and Guardians of the Galaxy will be filming this summer. If Avengers 2 is actually planning to shoot in the UK, then could that reveal anything about the plot of the film? Well, the choice of the UK over a U.S. city like Cleveland or New York could indicate that fans are going to see a more cosmic setting for Avengers 2.If Avengers 2 was going to be another story centering around an attack on a major U.S. city like the original Avengers, then Marvel likely would have chosen a U.S. location. Also, assuming Marvel Studios will be building numerous cosmic type sets for Guardians of the Galaxy, it would make sense for Marvel Studios to film Avengers 2 in the UK and utilize some of those same sets if Avengers 2 has a cosmic feel. Avengers 2 is set to be released at theaters in the United States on May 1, 2015.
