
It may have took its sweet time staggering over the milestone, but in the end Terminator Genisys has finally surpassed the $400 million milestone at the global box office. Now go thank China, Paramount and Skydance Pictures. Thanks, China!

In eight days, the fifth installment in the Terminator franchise has grossed $82.8 million in China, nearly topping its entire domestic total of $89.4 million. This weekend it added $23.4 million from the Middle Kingdom, putting it in the top spot for the foreign box office. While the news is positive, people have to remember that only 25% of revenue from the Chinese box office goes back home.
Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation continues to do well overseas. It added $15.3 million from China, pushing its global total to $470 million. Though the film will come up short to its predecessors total, as Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible โ Ghost Protocol earned $694.7 million.
