Released in conjunction with the big screen premiere of Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, Dunkin' Donuts unleashed a series of star-spangled treats honoring Marvel Comics' Sentinel of Liberty. And nothing scream U.S. Patriotism louder than branded fast food, right? To ring in Captain America's big screen debut, fans could devour a star-shaped jelly-filled donut, or a classic frosted donut—both colored to Cap's patriotic scheme.

2. Men In Black III Donuts

MIB3-2

Because the Captain America donuts must have worked so well, Dunkin Donuts struck again just one year later with Men In Black III tie-in donuts. Dunkin followed the same formula, but with a Men In Black twist, for their second outing—not that they weren't any less delicious. Back were the star-shaped/goo filled star donut and classic donut. But instead of having a classic batter or jelly filling, the donuts featured chocolate cake and creme. Because…chocolate is dark…like the shade of black…See where this is going?

3. Star Wars Donuts

"Do, or doughnut…there is no try," proclaimed the Brooklyn-based Dun-Well Doughnuts for 2014's May The 4th. I celebration of Star Wars Day, the vegan donut shop unleashed the force on their menu for the most creative confections in this galaxy, or any far, far, away ones. While Dun Well got clever with the "Bananakin Skywalker," "The Millennium Fal-Cone," And "Leia's Maple Buns," the true Jedi Master was Yoda-shaped Donut. Devour this, we must.

4. Marvel/DC Comics Donuts

Here's one superhero crossover we'd have over and over again. One Pinterest baker took it upon themselves to assemble both the Earth's Mightest and Greatest superheroes for Marvel and DC Comics-themed box of donuts. Featuring members of the Justice League, The Avengers, and more, this box of donuts had as many superpowers as it did calories. And because—why not?—the creator also threw in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle donut. The Turtles can't always eat pizza, right?

5. Zombee Donuts and Bakeshop

This Walkers-friendly donut shop in Fullerton, California, features a baker's dozen of zombie and horror-themed donuts. With zombie shaped donuts, eye-ball themed donuts, and more, a trip through this donut shop is like eating through an episode of The Walking Dead. We'd even bet Deadpools to Donuts that these treats could stem a Walker's craving for human flesh.
