The organizers of the Boston Comic Con have reached out to exhibitors on the convention's Facebook page, telling them that while load-in has been delayed by the current heightened security in and around the city, they still plan to hold the convention this weekend as planned. "EXHIBITORS: Load in at the Hynes is currently suspended till further notice," the convention announced earlier today. "We are still operating under the assumption that today's situation is temporary and the convention will proceed. Apologies for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience at this trying time." The convention is set to happen just a few blocks from where explosives went off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday. Last night, a gunfight between two suspects in the bombing and police left one suspect and one Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer dead, and a transit officer seriously injured. A second suspect, the brother of the one killed last night, is still at large and transportation around the city has been all but completely shut down as part of a manhunt. We will update the status of Boston Comic Con if anything changes.
