Rogue X-Men Days of Future Past

About a month ago, it was reported that Rogue, played by Anna Paquin, had been cut out of the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past. It turns out that, while her big action sequence has been removed, Rogue may still have some presence in the film. "It was one real sequence in the movie," writer Simon Kinberg explained to Empire Magazine. "We felt like it was taking tension out of the main story drive." "It does not mean that we won't see her in the film," director Bryan Singer added. "Also, I hope to make the sequence available on the DVD as she was quite wonderful in it. She is an important part of the X-Men family. I'm very pleased she will remain as one of Empire's anniversary covers." Empire Magazine unveiled 25 collectible covers based on the film for their March 2014 issue, each featuring a different character. Fans were a bit puzzled as to why Rogue was still given a cover if she had been cut from the movie. It's possible that she was never quite cut entirely, or maybe she was added back in somehow during the reshoots that took place over the past month. In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past - to save our future. X-Men: Days of Future Past will hit theaters May 23, 2014.
