Universal and Legendary Pictures have officially released the trailer for Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak online.

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds...and remembers.

Crimson Peak stars Tom Hiddleston (Avengers) as Sir Thomas Sharpe, Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) as Dr. Alan McMichael, and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Lady Lucille Sharpe. It is the latest film from director Guillermo del Toro, who has previously directed Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim, and the Hellboy franchise. Crimson Peak also stars Mia Wasikowska, Burn Gorman, Leslie Hope, Doug Jones, and Jim Beaver.

Crimson Peak hits theaters October 16, 2015.
