Marvel continues to rollout the Phase Three preview included with the Phase Two Blu-ray box set with a new portion of the video previewing Doctor Strange.
In the video (via USA Today) director Scott Derrickson and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige discuss the challenges inherent in bringing Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s psychedelic Sorcerer Supreme to the big screen.
Part of that challenge is finding the right actor for the job, which is why the cast Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of Stephen Strange.
"Benedict has got an incredibly complicated emotional structure going on," Derrickson says.
After that, it’s a matter of balancing the Strange’s, er, strangeness with the more grounded tone of Marvel Cinematic Universe, for what Feige describes as “a mind-trip action film.”
"How do you put that on a screen within this cinematic universe? That is one of the primary goals of that movie,” Feige says.
