Back in February of this year, Comicbook.com was the very first to report on the possibility of Paul Rudd playing Ant-Man. Even though Paul Rudd has publicly labeled the reports as just rumors, the fact that almost everyone in the entertainment press has recently run a report tying him to the role certainly suggests there is something to it. According to a new report on TheWrap, Paul Rudd is in early negotiations to play Hank Pym. It is interesting that TheWrap specifically mentions Hank Pym, because it's been a little unclear exactly which version of Ant-Man will be the focus of director Edgar Wright's movie. Wright did confirm Hank Pym would be in the movie, but he's never confirmed if Hank Pym will be Ant-Man in the movie. In recent appearances to promote Anchorman 2 and on Saturday Night Live, Paul Rudd has appeared noticeable slimmer, and TheWrap's sources have indicated that is because he's in training to play the physically demanding role of Ant-Man. Ant-Man is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on July 31, 2015.
