San Andreas director Brad Peyton is in talks with New Line Cinema to helm their video game-to-film adaptation of Rampage, according to Deadline.

The live-action adaptation of the Midway arcade game already has Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson set to star. Johnson and Peyton teamed up earlier this summer for San Andreas, which went on to make $460 million at the worldwide box office.

The plot is being kept under wraps, but we do know that it will feature George the giant gorilla, Lizzie the dinosaur/lizard monster, and Ralph the giant werewolf – destroying major cities and landmarks in North America.

The script was written by Non-Stop screenwriter Ryan Engle.

Rampage is slated for a 2017 release.
