Time has finally run out on Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).
Fox has hired Corey Hawkins, best known for playing Dr. Dre in the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton, to star in 24: Legacy. The 27-year-old actor will play "Eric Carter, a strong and smart guy who came from a rough background and turned his life around in the Army Rangers," The Hollywood Reporter reports. "Now back home in Virginia with his wife, Nicole, he's pulled back into action as his past comes looking for him." When that happens, Carter will ask the "CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil."
24: Legacy will feature an all-new cast of characters, however, the storytelling will keep the same style as the original series. Manny Coto and Evan Katz are writing the script.
Hawkins plays Heath on The Walking Dead and is currently filming Kong: Skull Island, which will stomp into theaters March 10, 2017.
