Like any trailer worth its salt, today's preview of Ant-Man raised several questions about the half-inch hero and his connection to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. Below, ComicBook.com asks the five biggest questions raised by Ant-Man's sophomore trailer, and wonders what their potential answers might mean.

Is Darren Cross Making Another Super Soldier?

At the beginning of the trailer, Ant-Man villain Darren Cross/Yellowjacket makes a speech about developing "soldiers" with Hank Pym's shrinking technology. Might Cross be jumping on the bandwagon with the rest of the Marvel Universe in developing a super-soldier army on par with Captain America? Now that Cap and The Avengers exist as an independent superhero army, maybe Cross wants to privatize the superhero arms race with super soldiers made of technology instead of an un-crackable serum.

What Makes Scott So Special?

Hank Pym notes that after observing Scott in prison, he wants him to take down Darren Cross. But, what makes Scott so special in Pym's eyes? Was Pym looking for any suitable imprisoned con-man, and just happened upon Scott, or was he seeking Scott from the start? And if Pym did have Scott in his cross-hairs from the beginning, why? Pym's comments certainly hint that there's something special about Scott, but as to what that is, we still don't know.

Can Ant-Man Communicate With Ants?

The trailer displayed all of Ant-Man's powers, minus one major ability—communicating with ants. Ant-Man could always direct the miniature soldiers to do his bidding in the comics, but the trailer gave no evidence of similar abilities in the film. Ant-Man calls an Ant "cute" at one point in the trailer, but there wasn't enough evidence to prove it was a two way conversation.

What's Up With Scott's Daughter?

In a blink-or-you'll miss it moment, Scott kissed his daughter goodnight. With such little time devoted to Scott's daughter, we wonder how big of a role she'll actually play in the film. In the comics, Scott's sick daughter played a large part in his origins, and helped motivate him to become a superhero. It's likely that she'll push Scott down the right path in some capacity, but her involvement just might not be as significant as we once thought.

Get A Room

As hilarious as it was, the trailer's final show-down between Yellojacket and Ant-Man left us scratching our heads. Why would the two super-combatants be fighting in a children's bedroom? It's definitely not your typical stage for a climactic brawl. But, if you look closely at the bedroom, you'll notice that it's mostly decorated with female decor. Could this room be Scott's daughter's? Perhaps she'll play a bigger role in the film after all.
