Groundskeeper Willie, longtime supporting character on FOX's The Simpsons, has taken to YouTube to advocate for Scottish independence ahead of the September 18 elections.

The bit, which is the latest video animated and uploaded to YouTube featuring The Simpsons characters touching on the issue of the moment (remember when Homer took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge last month?), comes ahead of the September 28 return of The Simpsons.

Check it out below.

Groundskeeper Willie has a few things to say prior to the Sept 18 Scottish elections.

Now the longest-running scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS reside in the town of Springfield. HOMER (Dan Castellaneta) works as a safety inspector at the local nuclear power plant; MARGE (Julie Kavner) tries to keep the peace in her family; BART (Nancy Cartwright) is the mischievous 10-year-old hellion; eight-year-old LISA (Yeardley Smith) is the intelligent, saxophone-playing, vegetarian member of the family; and baby MAGGIE conveys emotions via pacifier sucks.
