The anniversary campaign for Saban’s Power Rangers is called “You’ve Got the Power.” The program seeks to “encourage, enable and empower children and adults to unleash their inner superhero” through the core pillars of “friendship, inclusivity, diversity, and teamwork.”
The celebration will include a special 25th-anniversary episode of Power Rangers, which will air on Nickelodeon during the Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel season in the summer of 2018.
There will also be a national live tour, in partnership with Red Light Management and Creative Artists Agency, of an interactive theater production. More details are coming later in October.
Power Rangers will also launch an interactive, live-streaming roleplaying game on the Hyper RPG Twitch channel.
Other partnerships in place for the Power Rangers 25th Anniversary include escape rooms and virtual reality centers, and learning and physical development opportunities for kids.
Saban will also unveil the “Top 25 for the 25th” collection, featuring “must-have, official anniversary items for collectors of all ages.” The collection includes items from toy partner Bandai, for the Power Rangers: Legacy Wars mobile game, the Power Rangers comics from BOOM! Studios, and others.
The celebration will officially begin in January 2018 and run all year long, concluding during the 2018 holiday season.
Power Rangers debuted in 1993 with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, created by Haim Saban and inspired by Japanese tokusatsu series. Over its 25-year history, the Power Rangers franchise has produced 24 seasons of television with 20 different themes, three theatrical films, several video games, and countless other toys and merchandise.
