BOOM! Studios has big plans for the Power Rangers crossover Shattered Grid, but writer Kyle Higgins decided to clear up some misnomers about the anticipated storyline

Shattered Grid has been teased as an epic event feature a myriad of Rangers, but that claim increased after BOOM! Studios released a variant cover with a multitude of Rangers on it. Many took that to mean that every Power Ranger ever would be involved, but Higgins recently explained that is not the case.

"Been seeing outlets describe Shattered Grid as "every ranger ever" (most likely because of that variant cover image)--Make no mistake, our story has a LOT of Rangers in it... but it's not everyone ever," Higgins said. "All Rangers ARE at risk though, and it's going to take a ton of them to stop Drakkon."

Higgins was later asked if the other Rangers appear due to time travel and if all are from the future. "Most of them are. But not all," Higgins said.

It's unclear what exactly that means, but one possibility could be the team that originally sacrificed itself to take out the Green Psycho Ranger in 1969. There are two survivors of that group, but what if the Mighty Morphin team had the chance to work beside all of them? Crazier things have happened.

This could also have something to do with the resistance in the dark dimension too, but your guess is as good as ours.

It was also announced that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will crossover with Go Go Power Rangers, and Higgins gave some additional scheduling details. "March-August (25-30), plus 4 issues of GoGo, plus two one-shots, plus some of those issues are oversized, plus some things not yet announced... #staytuned."

Go Go Power Rangers' writer Ryan Parrott also joined in on the fun, giving fans an idea of what to expect from Go Go's involvement.

"Just FYI -- even though Go Go will be a part of #ShatteredGrid, the series will still retain the same scope, sensibilities and focus on telling small character-based stories about the early days of the Power Rangers," Parrott said.

Power Rangers Shattered Grid will kick off officially in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #25, which hits March of next year.
